WORDPERFECT(R) MACRO FOR RMS-III
Item: Files RMS2WP??.W?M are WordPerfect macros for conversion of printer
command codes for character attributes to WordPerfect character attribute
codes. BOLD, UNDERLINE, and ITALIC character attributes are treated.
Purpose: To ease and speedup transfer of reference data to a WordPerfect
with full rendering of bold, underline, and italic character attributes.
Versions: Macros for four versions of WordPerfect are included - each
requires a particular macro file:
WP-DOS 5.0/5.1 = RMS2WP5.WPM WP-DOS 6.0 = RMS2WP6.WPM
WP-WIN 5.1/5.2 = RMS2WPW5.WCM WP-WIN 6.0 = RMS2WPW6.WCM
You must copy the appropriate file to your WordPerfect macro directory.
Basis: Output a disk-file with a UDS report having printer controls. When
retrieved into WordPerfect, printer codes are appear as ESCAPE code pairs.
This macro locates these escape codes, blocks between pairs, assigns the
appropriate WordPerfect attribute, and deletes the original printer code.
To Use: In the report menu (#5), be sure your printer selection is set
to 'E', the Epson printer. If it is not, use option #5, PRINT-to-PRINTER
to select the E 'printer device'. Exit the print-to printer operation
(ESC) as soon as possible. Select the WRITE-to-DISK option (#6), select
the 'UserDef.Format' setting plus any data items to be included. When
prompted, enter a file name, complete the supplemental report data
including the name of a UDS with printer controls, and execute. When
done, go into WordPerfect, retrieve the file, run the RMS2WP?? macro.
Misc. Notes: 1) The macro file appropriate to your version of WordPerfect
must be copied to your WordPerfect macro location. In some
cases it will be expanded when first used (compiled).
2) If you routinely use a different printer you could modify
the macro for your correspond to printer codes.
